Dr Who
If you wantched the most recent episode of Dr. Who, you'll have noticed it ended with Winston Churchill ringing the Doctor to help him in some way with the war effort - and then the shocking reveal that Churchill appears to be in league with the Daleks! Now, I don't know about you, but several thoughts struck me about this one:
Firstly, given that the Doctor has a time machine, why doesn't he just go back in time and kill Hitler before he was born? I'm sure there's nothing that could possibly go wrong with that.
Secondly; Churchill vs. The Daleks is a game idea I wish I'd thought of.
However, thirdly, and perhaps most strikingly, it appears that the British Prime Minister has a hotline to the Tardis on his desk. When did that happen? And what, might I ask, are the conditions of use? Could Sir Alec Douglas-Home have used to to get the doctor to bring him a piping hot takeaway? Or Lloyd George asked the Doctor to whizz him through time so he could make free with ladies of all eras? However, the whole PM & Daleks ringing the Doctor theme gives me loads of ideas for future episodes:
Gladstone: Ah, Doctor, it's me. I've got some new allies to help me deal with the problem of fallen women and prostitutes in the East End.
Dalek: EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!
or
Thatcher: Ah, Doctor. I've got some new allies to help me deal with Scargill!
Dalek: EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!
or
Gordon Brown: Ah, Doctor. I've got some new allies to help me in my prudent management of the economy!
Dalek: EXTERMINATE! EXT- Oh, you don't need us.
