…it was the annual Festival of Pyrotechnic Delight, so on Friday

ukmonty and I got the train up to the rambling pile which my folks call home, where we met up with

puddingcat plus Nobert and Eddie Hitler. A cheery but drunken evening ensued (complete with new toast – “Bukkake!”) followed by a hangover in the morning.
After causing myself a nasty injury in the wallet at the booze shop we unloaded the fireworks (and my rather natty and attractive woolly hat), during which

godzuki arrived.
As is traditional, we burned in effigy someone who represents an anathema to civilised society (previous candidates have included Tony Blair and Robert Mugabe), and this years candidate was treasonous former Royal flunky Paul Burrell. He went up in smoke very nicely, thank you - ”Sic Semper Tratoris”, as was observed at the time.
Then more booze, mighty firework detonations, sparklers, more booze, and a watching of Toy Story 2 to round off the evening.

Ah, the simple pleasures of life.
