The good thing about genCon this year is that is in October, which means I've got an extra two months to prevaricate in before (as usual) sitting down in a panic 3 days before the event and writing like billy-oh to have something to run.
I'm toying with various ideas of what to run this year. I reckon I've got room in my head for 3 LARPs, and so I'm interested in what people who may be going to Gencon might be most interested in playing. Here's some suggestions.
1) Diablerie on the Orient Express (A positively final performance). Remains the best thing I've ever written and that, coupled with my just having to dust it off to run, makes it an attractive proposition for me. Dunno what the audience takeup would be like though.
2) Mars or Bust! (Space 1889). It's 1889 and delegations of the British Empire and Tsarist Russia are off to Mars in the Aetherial flyer to negotiate with the various factions of that planet; including the grey-uniformed troops of Barsoom, the tripod-riding mobile brains, and the terror legions of Emperor Ming the Merciless. Square-jawed derring do and sneaky bolshevik politicos ahoy!
3) Bilderberg: The Role-playing game. Join the international consirpacy which rules the world as the Bilderberg group gets together for it's annual knees-up. Tony Blair, Geoorge W Bush, The Boy Scout movement, the Elders of Zion, the Saucer People and more all get to sit down and decide how they're going to manipulate the globe in the coming year.
4) It's the End of the World as we know it: Vamp 3rd edition. Rounds off the MM WoD game world in style.
5) Vampire 4th edition. Should be out by then...the first big game of the new system? Start as we mean to go on.
What do you game-geeks think?

Date: 2004-04-13 05:01 am (UTC)2) This OTT roleplay option gets my vote as well. Hm, maybe you could get
3) This could be a fantastic one but I guess will rely on good players who are really into it and up for a laugh. I guess
4) *shrugs*
5) And then afterwards we wish every Cam game would be like that... A good opportunity to get people into it, though and possibly even recruiting for the Cam.

Date: 2004-04-13 05:19 am (UTC)1) A classic I'd like to try.
2) Sounds good; although trying to play a Russian without saying 'Comrade' would be a challenge!
3) Hmmmm, not so struck.
4) Could be fun, the Vamp games are always fun.
5) Would like to try this!

Date: 2004-04-13 05:20 am (UTC)Have a look here (no details about signing upand here (where it still says February).
The latest bit in the forum I could find is this one (where they say prices are still being negotiated).
Despite it being over five months to go, at least prices should be available...

Date: 2004-04-13 05:29 am (UTC)2: Having played "Hurrah for St Custards!" last year - yes please! Lets see if we can get you to the same point of giggles as we did then.
3: See above.
4: Seeing as the game last year was so popular, and they all wanted to see what happens next - you have to. I'll volunteer to minion this one for you.
5: hmm, also a possible. See option 4 re minioning

Date: 2004-04-13 05:51 am (UTC)Have the kernel of an idea for the Changeling game, and I'm hoping it will grow. Need to speak to the other half of my Changeling brain (ie Andy) about it though.

Date: 2004-04-13 07:45 am (UTC)Personally, 3) sounds the most fun to mne, if only to see what you'd write for it as plot. :-) Although I would love to play in it...
Re: GenCon
However, not everyone is as disorganised as the Cam. ;o)
