Things I hate doing...

Today I made what was, on the face of it, a very small error. I mentioned a name in a mail elsewhere that I didn't know I wasn't supposed to mention.
As a result of this, someone (not me) is now in fear for their job, as they're liable is others draw conclusions from this.
I feel far, far worse than I would if I'd damaged myself via my own damned stupidity. I have grovellingly apologised, and they've accepted as they understand human error. However, the genie is out of the bottle now, and it won't fit back in no matter how hard I shove it.
