Shockingly, I have encountered a recent survey which indicates that 83% of women don't know who Angus Young is. Now, globally, that means that over 400million women do, but you can imagine how this figure of Young-related ignorance upsets and distresses me. Not since Little Jimmy Krankie has a grown adult dressed as a schoolboy brought so much pleasure into the hearts of so many; and so to counteract this cultural ignorance on the part of so many, I hereby declare today to be

International AC/DC Awareness Day

Think of all the things that AC/DC have done. Think how they have reflected the cultural growth of the world. Can it be coincidence that they released 'For those about to Rock!' mere months after Margaret Thatcher won her first general election (and rock she did!). Can it be coincidence that 'Back in Black' appeared but days before British Tommy gave Johnny Foreigner a slap in the Falklands? And who can ignore the striking synchronicity between Mikhael Gorbachevs annoucement of the new policies of Perestroika and Glasnost and the release of 'Who made Who'?

It is plain to me that many of todays ills can be easily traced to the decline in 'Angus-awareness'. Crime has risen, taxes are more punitive than ever, and I don't score anything like as much as I used to.

So it is, I beseech everyone to announce International AC/DC Awareness Day on LJ. Tell everyone, and spread the word worldwide!

Change the statistics that define our lives. If you see a woman who looks like she doesn't know who Angus Young is, tell her! See how happy and grateful she looks as you walk away!
Together, we can change the world. Make Angus your topic of the day.

You know it makes sense.

You can tell today is quite slow in the office, can't you?
