My voracious reading brings me an interesting snippet about the European Parliament Building in Brussels. Apparently seat number 666 is not only always vacant, but it is listed in internal documentation as 'reserved'.
Reserved? Reserved for whom, precisely?
I have to say that I'm not overly reassured by the thought that, not content with giving us Jacques Barrot*, Neil Kinnock**, and Peter Mandelson***, we may well soon have Beelzebub himself representing our interests in Brussels

*The Commissioner who didn't think that a convinction for embezzlement was worth mentioning when he stood for the position
**Three.Time.Loser.
***Who may well soon have to resign for the third time, this time over his links to Eli Calil, whom Equatorial Guineau have accused of being a major instigator of the planned coup in that country.

You may not have heard of Mordecai Vanunu, who was rearrested in Jerusalem recently by Israeli security forces. Mr. Vanunu is the Israeli 'nuclear whistle blower', who has spent much of the last twenty years incarcerated without trial.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of the case, there are several questions about his case which I've never seen answered:
Where the hell did he get a Nuclear Whistle from anyway? How does it work? Is the pea made of uranium? What happened when he blew it? And, most importantly, if there's nuclear whistles to be blown, can I have a go?

Peep! Ka-boom!
