Goodbye Tony Blair
Though I never liked you at all
You lacked the grace to uphold yourself
And those around you crawled.
You crawled out of the woodwork
A man without a sense of shame
Your underlings were useless
But you never took the blame.
And it seems to me, you made your policies
Like a candle in the wind
Always knowing who to cling to
To keep votes coming in
And I would have liked to have punched you
But I never did
Your candle burned out long before
You were elected.
Honesty was tough
You couldn’t help yourself but lie
And only fools believed you,
‘A pretty straight kind of guy’.
Though you always lied
Your dishonesty was allowed
On wars, the BBC and pensions
Because you made the Labour Party proud.
And it seems to me, you made your policies
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
To keep votes coming in
And I would have liked to have punched you
But I never did
Your candle burned out long before
You were elected.
Goodbye Tony Blair
Though I never liked you at all
Goodbye Tony Blair
From the young man on livejournal
Who sees you as something less than human
Less than just Anthony J Blair.
And it seems to me, you made your policies
Like a candle in the wind
Always knowing who to cling to
To keep votes coming in
And I would have liked to have punched you
But I never did
Your candle burned out long before
You were elected.
