Great conversations of our time [3]
Feb. 16th, 2009 10:36 amHer: Ooh, what's this you're listening to?
Me: Mm? Why do you ask?
Her: Well, this is classical, and normally the stuff you listen to is quite...lowbrow.
Me: And what does that mean?
Her: You know, no artistic merit. It's usually loud guitars or bleeps. Or both at the same time.
Me: You'll be telling me next you don't like Rammstein.
Her: So I actually need to tell you?
Me: Fair point.
Her: So what is this, anyway?
Me: Do you like it?
Her: I do.
Me: With your knowledge of all things classical, who do you think it might be?
Her: It's very bombastic. Lots of brass and drums. One of the Russians, perhaps? Someone like Mussorgsky?
Me: It's the Imperial March from Star Wars.
Her: You are such a loser.
