Tom Lehrer once wrote a song called Werner von Braun, about the rocket scientist co-opted by the Americans after WW2. Some opportunities are too good to miss.

Gather round while I sing you of Gordon von Brown
A man whose futility defies credibility,
Call him a moron, he won't even frown,
"La, la, I’m not listening,”
Says Gordon von Brown.

Don't say that he's insubstantial
Say rather, his talents are just not financial.
"Once the borrowing goes up, who cares how it comes down?
That's not my department",
Says Gordon von Brown.

Some have harsh words for this man of renown,
Not least, when they’ve pondered the money he’s squandered.
Like the people with pensions in old London town,
Who face ruin and debt, thanks
To Gordon von Brown

Perhaps you may be a big hero,
If you learn to count, unlike this zero.
"Once the banks print more money, inflation comes down,
That’s called economics!'' says Gordon von Brown.
