Daniel Darov, pilotski of the future?

In counterpoint to my slagging off of Stalinist architecture yesterday, might I present some designs of what Stalin wanted to build in Moscow, and would have done had a war or two not got in his way?

Personally I reckon these would make excellent background designs for a retro sci-fi adventure of the Sky Captain sort.
