Sep. 29th, 2010 10:31 amThe relations between successful sports stars and women have been mainstays of the press for time out of mind, mainly because the papers have learned that Sports Star + Trousers Round Ankles = More Sales!
However, it just seems to have been in the news more often recently. From Tiger Woods putting it about with anything in a skirt ,to Ashley Cole losing his missus through being unable to keep it in his trousers to Wayne Rooney and David Beckham (allegedly) hiring professionals to help them deal with the stress and pressure of being highly paid young men with an itch to scratch it's all go in sportsman-legover land at the moment.
In what is perhaps a related note, I recently came across a survey done of over 2,000 secondary school girls about their career aspirations, and almost two thirds of them identified being a WAG (Wife and Girlfriend of a sports star) as their goal. What this says about lack of aspiration, ambition and education just makes me really cross and I've been meaning to comment on it for a while, but, I wondered, how?
Anyway, I was promenading past the Moulin Rouge the other night when it came to me in a flash. I'll comment though the medium of song, same way I do everything else round here.
