With the success of the Spielberg WWI epic "War Horse" in the cinema, Hollywood is keen to bring more stories of animals in warfare to the screen. What can we expect to see greelit over the coming year?

Napoleon Bunny-parte: When the Emperor Napoleon goes out for a day of hunting he is terrified to be confronted by dozens of hungry rabbits and is forced to flee before them like, well, like a Frenchman confronted by an enemy, the great softy nancy. Based on a true story.
(No, really. Based on a true story).

Saving Private Tiggywinkle: When his owner goes off to war, Hamster Mister Shufflebottom decides to "Do his bit" and runs away to the front to fight Hitler. The closing sequence - a recreation of the D-Day landings featuring thousands of hamsters being machinegunned by the SS whilst hopping across a minefield - has been described by critics as "unbelievable".

The Incredible journey: When two dogs and a cat are abandoned by their owner they set out on a remarkable journey to find them. Unfortunately they were abandoned in Da Nang city two days before the start of the Tet Offensive, and are killed and made into soup shortly after.
