After a late night session failing to reach a decision on whether to take military action against Syria in the wake of the deaths of 1,400 people, the United States Congress has unanimously voted to pursue airstrikes against Mid-Staffordshire NHS trust.
Billy-Bob Hackenback (R-Tex), who tabled the motion, said "Killin' your own people is the worst crime a country can commit, an' yeah, Assad killed 1,400 people, it turns out those limeys managed as many as 1,200 - and they were patients in a hospital, which makes it worse. And like Assad, ain't nobody been arrested or been brought to justice. If the United States ain't here to stand up for the sick and helpless, then what are we here for?"
Sen. Hackensack went on to point out that the US has plenty of F1-11's at Lakenheath only twenty minutes away and "It sure is a plum shame to jus' leave them sitting there doing nothing."
In a statement to the world's press, President Obama deplored the deaths in Mid-Staffordshire and said the United States reserved the right to strike at countries who failed to protect their own citizens and failed to bring the perpetrators to book. "Besides", said President Obama. "Socialised healthcare is just another way of saying 'Communism'."
