I went to a marvellous Elysium...

With approriate apologies to Noel Coward

I went to a marvellous Elysium
I acted on lust and desire
I was very impressed
By a girl who was dressed
In what looked like an old tractor tyre.

The Ten O’clock monster, it seemed to be late
The Tremere huddled round, muttering “Demon” and “Gate”
And the ST regarded travelling players with hate

I couldn’t have liked it more.

I went to a marvellous Elysium,
Marc Torley had failed to appear.
A cuckolded spouse
Had gone to his house
To end his philandering career.

But then Mark arrived with his shoes on his knees
And was beaten quite senseless in spite of his pleas.
And as he lay bleeding, Monty bantered; “Hard Cheese”

I couldn’t have liked it more.

*coughs*

Is this related to anything in particular? Rumours abound...!

Is this the same rumour that was doing the rounds nearly 3 years ago or have things changed since then?

Probably; I made this up about 2 years ago after going to see a Coward play - I just found it when going through some old discs last week :)

So the rumours about Torley were all made up by you. For shame, and you could have got the poor boy into trouble. Hmm, didn't someone's marriage get broken up over that one?

They weren't made up by me...I simply took something existing and played on it :)

I made up the song, not the rumours.

Oh, and totally unrelated, it's a fine poem :).

It scans well and I like the rhythm - it's extremely readable.
