Thought for the day

If I ruled the world then I would actively encourage people to engage in 'Slacktivism', like so many people I know on LJ do. The more people sit at their computers, convinced they can make a difference by filling in e-petitions and writing long LJ posts, the fewer people there are out in the real world actually doing something to change the world.
This is something I, as despot, would wish to encourage.

I have been forced to mount a petition against you...

Bravo. Nothing quite like futile vox-pop to allow the 'concerned' liberals to feel like they are making a difference without actually impacting upon reality.

And may I be the first to welcome our new Yorkshire overlords...

I'm most displeased by the low standards of service set by your tube over the new year. Please do better.

Such spelling! And for one who works at a publishing company, too.

No wonder the United States is taking over the internet.

The correct spelling is:

Gld 2 C ur keepn bi-z n ur 3v1l 1ar. Meenwhle, in teh r33l w0r1d, d0 sum w0rx, j00!

Terry flings open the doors of the wardrobe, to let us see his 155 waistcoats, 82 lounge suits, 24 dinner jackets, 38 pairs of suede shoes and 96 ties. "D'you know," he says amiably, "people in the press accuse me of being a bit of a spendthrift, especially on clothes. But really, if it wasn't for my taste in clothes, I would never have been given the boot by the Union Cold Storage Company, and I might still be working there now, as some beastly manager or something. And living in Finchley, heaven forbid! I mean, really, can you imagine it?"

Try as we do, none of us can quite imagine him living in Finchley, a drab part of north London that has not distinguished itself in any way, other than by producing Terry-Thomas.

Is a DeSpot anything like a GeSpot?
