But then I don't think taking things on a global level is particularly justifiable. It's not a useful measure to say that I'm comfortable/rich and that struggling farmer in a drought stricken African country is poor. There's very little consistent in our situations other than income, and it doesn't provide any good information that would provide a solution to poverty. All it does is state the blindingly obvious that some countries and their citizens are significantly better off than others.
