An excellent way of dealing with it. I have found another thing that freaks out the great unwashed - Nazis! Oh and looking lovingly at pictures of Hitler. This I reserve for those folks who insist on sitting down on the bus rather than letting me have two seats. If they are particularly annoying this can be accompanied by pictures of holocaust victims and a whimsical smile.
