A few weeks ago, I posted a fine idea for marketing cigarettes to children. Since then, I've been trying to think how they could be made attractive to kids in the same way that alcopops are acceptable to childrens palates.
It's undeniable that cigarettes taste pretty foul and so I gave up on the 'making them taste nice' idea and shifted my focus to making them a consumer desirable to the pre-teen market.

My mother was a huge film fan and smoked her way to several albums of cigarette cards. Also, good old Embassy provided us with all maner of household items. It's obviously the collectable coupon route that works.

How to get Kids addicted?

Easy!

Take the concept of Paipo (http://www.paipo.org.uk/), use nice tasty tasty flavours (full of sweetner) and select some "funky" colours for the plastic casing. Add a little bit of nicotine, but not so much as to make the tasty icky, and bingo: training cigs!

That way you don't have to worry about the children burning themselves or struggling with clouds of smoke, but you do get them nice and addicted to not just the nicotine, but the physical motions too.

I know it'll turn the kids into goths, but good cloves really do work. And have more tar in one cig than most cigs have in a packet.
