Me: Hi. I'm wondering, can you tell me if Bob Jones still works over there?
Receptionist: I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to give names over the phone
Me: Why not? I only want to know if he's still there?
Receptionist: It's company policy. I can't give out names over the phone.
Me: Okay, let's try this another way. Can you put me through to Bob Jones, please?
receptionist: He's not about at the moment.
Me: He does still work there then? That's all I wanted to know, thanks. Bye!
