I can agree with your comments on the 1930's-50s not being the movie paradise that these ladys think. Yes there was a bug fall in crime rates in the 40's but that could be due to the fact that every available body was busy fighting for their preferred Ideaology. The 50's actually saw one of the highest crime rates in the last 100 years due to lots of young men who were only skilled in fighting struggling to make a living in shattered nations.
