Well, denationalisation of the railways was a disaster, as was nationalisation....
Foreigners manage to have good tranes, so let's assume the idea of tranes isn't broke, rather the way we try & put it into action.
Like the way we (British Leyland, subsequently Rover) tried to do cars was crap
And coal. And hospitals. And schools. And emptying bins. And democracy.
Face it, we suck. If you want anything to work, you wind up paying twice, and no-one cares. Lions led by donkys.
