If the D plan diet is "eat less food, take more exercise", then the Anti-D plan is "Take no excercise at all and stuff your face like Henry the Eighth with a tapeworm"; and that, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly how I spent my Christmas. Guzzling like there's no tomorrow, I discovered at the gym yesterday, is no way to procure a sylphlike physique. As it was I waddled into the gym and was profoundly humiliated by the beautiful people who looked and exercised as if they'd just taken the day off from running up mountains with a couple of anvils on their backs.

Sigh. Back to the grindstone.
