We feared that writing a post about the Famous Five had unveiled such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that you'd either gone mad from the revelation or had fled from the light into the peace and safety of a three-page description of a sumptuous picnic with ham sandwiches and home-made lemonade.
