Gratifyingly, I seem to have become one of amazon.co.uk's top reviewers

<.engage smug mode>

Of course, having posted this here, I now expect to get lots of negative votes just to bump down my listing and self-satisfaction a bit - but I couldn't resist telling.:)

Oh, and hi, [livejournal.com profile] twicedead, nice to have you on board.
At this rate I'll ahve toi write another gripping story soon.

"Funny Valentine" is your best review :)

Amazon don't tend to post up the hate-filled ones - I had to re-write that one about half a dozen times before it finally got accepted.
It's a shame, as bile is a great deal more fun to write. Actually, I might start posting more bile here.

Don't forget to visit my wishlist whilst you're there.

It was the aliens thing that got me. I can just see the US government tearing the trousers off rednecks and planting them upside down in a field in order to catch a little green man.

I should have taken that off my wishlist as I now have that. Thanks for the offer though.

You can see the scene:

"Corporal O'Flanagan! What the Hell do you think you are doing!?!?"
"Well, sir these are our orders from the Pentagon"
"God-Damn. I thought J. Edgar Hoover was dead!"

Cor! A Flashman fan too eh? :-)

Very eclectic review mix there ... would look a lot like mine if I half-bothered with Amazon.

Still, I've been eyeing Baudolino for a while now.

Read 'Foucault's Pendulum' perchance?

Of course no bile!

You do know that they are trying to *sell* books? :-)

His third-best book. Name of the Rose is best, then Baudolino, and Island of the Day before irritating in the extreme.

I've read some extremely vicious reviews on Amazon ("If you read this book then your IQ will go down"), but they're harder to write without contravening their review policies.
