Flying

Can anyone tell me what American Airlines are like?
My usual airlines of choice (BA and Vurgin) don't fly direct to St Louis and so I might have to fly with a lesser airline. Are they any good, or would the extra travel time on BA be rewarded with extra comfort & facilities?

Have you looked into Delta airlines?

They have frequent flights from Heathrow, and one of their major hubs is Atlanta, which is a rather nice, newer airport that accepts international arrivals (avoids JFK) ... moreover, being in the south, it's a fairly good jumping point for St. Louis.

If I'm going to fly on a flight where I have to transfer, I'll go with BA or Virgin & change in NY. The question I'm pondering is do I fly direct and save £50 plus a few hours.

I'm not sure you can fly directly - I know there are 'hubbed' gateways for US entry by flight.

You can - there's one flight a day
