How is everyone out there in LJ land today? Hope you're all well.

This post was originally intended to be a poor-taste parody of superheroes, but thanks to Windows Xp screwing up *again* I have yet more work to do. Perhaps I'll post later.
In the meantime, just tell me how you are and how your day is going - it'll keep me interested.

I'm afraid that I decided to delete my whinging queeny post, despite my initial thought that explaining how crap today was might make you feel better about Windows XP. Clearly that's just rubbish.

In fact, so rubbish is today that the most exciting thing (next to this post) that I'm doing is company accounts.

If you really want to know anything more about the accounts feel free to ask but I might have to brand you an accountant-lover.

But, thanks to my wench, I *am* an accountant lover.

Or accountant appreciator, anyway.

OK. I surrender.
If I don't come out before my holiday, somebody pull me out from under the invoices and fags ends.

I have a job interview for "theatrical luvvie" tomorrow. OK...so that isn't the EXACT job title, but it's pretty damn close.

I suspect I shan't get it and shall have to return to being a spoilt trust fund brat for a little bit longer, but I live in hope.

That's my day.

You've got a trust fund?

Dammit, why aren't I going out with you?

Because I'm busy dating cads and bounders who are only after me for my money.

It's Tradition. I try and find as many wastrels as possible as well.

You'll do fine at the interview.

*hugs*

Thank you. I REALLY hope it goes well. Once I start getting paid I can start up my mini cooper fund.

and then the house fund.

Mini cooper first. In current economic state I might be being persuaded to wait on the house thing. I've heard opinions stating that right now London is going into a boom, and now is not a good time to buy.

I am awake. I generally consider this to be a bad move, further compounded by the mistake of actually getting out of bed. I have decided after yesterday's debacle that I shall do nothing productive today since I appear to be in sore need of some R+R and anyway I have to wait for bloody Legal and General to tell me exactly how much of my money they've pissed away on expensive fund managers. Remember kiddies, if you're me, investments can go up as well as down, but they, well, don't.

I am well.

I am busy at work, watching the goalposts revolve with increasing rapidity.

I have a hobby that causes me more stress than enjoyment and I wonder where my creativity has gone.

I am fed up, fed up, fed up.

And I want my phone.

And now my boyfriend wants me to buy a Mini Cooper. Men can be so demanding...

Hilary - you do realise there is now a very real danger that I may kill you for your car.

I say, what a good userpic that is. I wish I'd thought of it (the Joker, not Harley).

It's a gorgeous userpic. I have a Harley Quinn thing - there is just something about psychotic women which appeals to me. No idea why, really...

When I was but young I *loved* the Joker. Something about him in the 'laughing fish' storyline really appealed to me, and then when I read Killing Joke in my teen angst phase I thought I could relate, too.

I always wanted a purple suit, mind.

No.

The source of the funding for this putative car is as yet, undecided. We are negotiating.

And it was you who put this idea into his head.

I hired a car that sounds like something a Ninja would yell this weekend and I quite liked it. It was, of course, seriously underpowered. Oh, and as it was Japanese, the wipers came on every time I turned a corner or changed lanes.

I got to come in to work last night at midnight because the roof hatch had blown open and the operations manager slept through two phones. now I'm behind because I started work late and the operations manager got into a fight with the president of our sister company. plus it's the coldest day in over a month with wind chills below zero. and it's not even 10:00. not shaping up well.

From: [identity profile] davywavy.livejournal.com
It's bleedin' cold here too - not icy, but windchill cold.
It's odd how a crisp frost can be 'nice' cold but a sharp wind can be so unpleasant, isn't it?

Date: 2004-03-11 08:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] susanofstohelit.livejournal.com
umm, the weather described it as "icy wind" last night. our windchill is about -20 celsius today, which is supposed to end in february. our high temp today is going to be around -10 c.

I don't really like frosts either - I want to move somewhere warm. maybe arizona.

From: [identity profile] davywavy.livejournal.com
We just don't get that sort of extreme, I suppose - a pleasantly cris day might get to -2 or -3, and the coldest it's ever been in this country is something like -21.
i you wanted to move somewhere warmer, might I suggest england? it's great here.

I don't like the rain, unfortunately. I want to move somewhere dry and sunny.

the lowest temp I've experienced was -55 f, which is about -50 c (give or take, I'm doing the conversion in my head). we've had windchills down to -70 f. compared to that, this is balmy. I mean, I don't even need a hat today.
