A moment of intolerance, part 2
May. 6th, 2002 06:42 pmAccording to US government statistics, every year 300,000 Americans die from obestity related causes, and treating obesity-related illnesses now costs the US 2.5% of it's Gross Domestic Product.
When I look at these figures, all that it makes me think is that Ronald McDonald kills more Americans and costs the US economy more than Osama bin Laden managed on September 11th every ten days , but I don't notice them sending a platoon of marines after him.
And also that if Osama really wanted to kill Americans, he should have just used his vast furtune to buy a controlling stake in the McDonalds corporation and increase their serving sizes. He'd kill tens of thousands every year and cost them a fortune, and they'd be thanking him for it.
