The film Calamity Jane contains a song which goes "When you turn to the subject of Harry/ that's a horse from a different safari/ he can box like a fox/ he's a dumb as an ox/ but it's Harry I'm planning to marry". It's amazing how quickly this song structure can be turned to other people and used to laugh at them.
For example, over the weekend my sister made up this charming ditty about myself:
When you turn to the subject of David
He's a lifestyle that's vile and depravéd
He finds rubber-clad goths
Like a lamp attracts moths
And he acts like a monkey, but shave'd

My sister, eh, folks? Isn't she great? She sang this at me and then promptly 'walked into a door'. It's odd how mocking me within arms reach can lead so quickly to 'clumsiness'.
As I'm feeling chirpy and creative today, I'm offering the free David lyrical-mockery service. If you like, I'll try and make up a version of this about you, dear reader. It'd help if I know you at least fairly well - if I don't, telling me stuff about yourself would probably help.

No promises, no guarantees, but it'll pass what I hope will be an idle afternoon.

UPDATE: It seems many of my friends wilfully and with malice aforethought have names that won't rhyme or scan easily. Bah.

I thought it was Els? And that has me stumped to...

Well, one last try, or I'll feel sad and deprived :P

Els, yep, but also often changed to Elza due to the high number of Els's always present in every class. Last name, Rombaut, although I doubt that'll do any good as well :P

When it comes to the subject of Elz-a
Her musical tastes are quite bourgeois
She likes 80's glam rock
Mainly Saxon - a shock!
And whose lyrics are manly blah blah blah.

Thanks :) Although I hope the shock comment is not meant negatively, cause I'm buying the new Saxon album in September and one way or another, will impose it on you ^_^

They will in September, posted something about it in my lj a few posts back. So yeah, there you have it, not only are they still performing but actually recording new material :)

The most ambitious, unlikely title I've ever seen for an album was "Saxons greatest hits - Volume one"

*grins* Tsk tsk, you should respect your elders, isn't that what is always said? :)
From: [identity profile] davywavy.livejournal.com
Elders and *betters*, I think. So I'm safe not showing respect to, well, pretty much anyone really.

Just noticed your comment about wilfully and with malice. I say, it's a lack of respect toward you, that's what it is!

My friends, eh? Second rate, so they are.

Elza and bourgeois do not rhyme. Cygny does however, as good as rhyme with dig me, frig me or pygmy.

None of which are rhymes I could use in poetry in a public place.
