When creating a Follower of Set, read the FoS clanbook.

Can you find the phrase "As the Followers of Set acheive their goals by subtle manipulation or supplying needs that people don't even realise they have - and much of this strategy relies upon other people trusting them - the clan makes sure to follow an active plan of only embracing morons, fucked up junkies, petty criminals, prostitutes, and dangerous lunatics; these are obviously the sort of people that suspicious members of other clans are going to trust instantly."

You can't find it?

That's because it doesn't say it.

Comprende?

Good.

And pass the fried rattlesnake.

I hate stupidity in any clan but I swear the FoS collect the largest hive of the Clan of Boppo..

Honest. Go to my info page and find the Book_of_Boppo LJ. Read it. Make it a friend too!

oh I dunno I've seen the like in all clans methinks

and as a personal gripe the old 'hey I'm a ravnos therefore I steal'

is one of the most irritating things EVER ( at least in relation to vampire stuff ;o)

I thought the rule for creating a character from *any* clan was "read the FoS Clan Book" then, even if playing a still-bleeding-from-the-embrace neonate, you can know what those rascals are like & act appropriately.

And always remember - heart theft. Not a deep dark secret, but a freely advertised public service by the FoS.

Everyone knows about it! Remember this and act accordingly!

Like any other so-called secret of any clan; find me a neonate who can't name (bizarrely) at least three paths of Thaum, who hasn't heard of Cathage, who doesn't know about the Toreador guilds, who...

we know what we mean

Actually, I OOC can't name any paths of thaum. Um. Well, maybe take an educated guess at one. I hate reading rule books; helps at times.

I haven't been able to names thaum paths, either as Leonie or Lisa. In fact as Leonie I knew nothing about any of that lot above since it waz all scary leech..er... kindred stuff.

As Lisa...

I do know about Cathage but that's Brujah training for ya ;). Try and avoid Cathage when Critus locks you in his library for days and goes on about republican theory (bloody cambridge bloody split Elyisum *mutter*)

I know vaguely about guilds because they kept trying to get me embraced into them, but I have this idea that it's more like "art appreciation societies" inside the clan who use it as an excuse for parties rather than anything else.

Setites? Aren't they the snakey things that do.. er.. snakey things... and hang around in sunglasses? Why is that? Bad fashion sense?

what they can do that?
damn and I had that staking plan already to go
one of my pc's knows about that but has good reason to seeing as he was told by someone I trust knows about that stuff
the other one hasn't a clue and would be very skeptical if anyone told him they could
I mean what a stupid idea you'd drop down dead surely?

Yeah...when yo usay "Everyone knows it", you should actually be saying "everyone knows it *because they read it in the rules*"

Sigh.

I loved Iscariots example: "We Followers of Set dress up in tutus, cover ourselves in marmalade and sing "Agadoo" in religious rituals."

20 minutes later: "Iscariot *told* me that you setites did perform religious rituals so I know IC now."

Sigh.

*nods*

I've noticed that.

People do it with more than Setites. I remember once Bridget ended up trying to explain the world to a newly embraced char (actually - she's done that more than once.)

Apparently everything she said was utterly convincing until she started explaining the horrible vampiric werewolves created by lupined biting kindred which could only be repelled by bleach.

Sounds totally credible to me! I mean - when did you last see an evil vampiric lupine in your toilet?

*sighs*

Apparently it wasn't believable, although the whole vampire, clan, blood bond, discipline thing just made sense straight off. My 'fairies are evil but can be repulsed by some kind of herb' also went down badly...

I'm quite pleased with myself on that score.

I recently bought "Inaccurate Tremere Lore" as one of my lores:)

Date: 2002-07-17 09:32 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] winterthing.livejournal.com
Oh - I don't buy lores. I keep track of what Bridget is told IC.

So far we have...

Lupine lore: - dangerous 9 foot tall furry things
- created by being bitten by a werewolf
- only come up on the full moon - otherwise you're safe
- repelled by bleach, garlic, and silver.
- have a strange sexual fascination with female vamps
- have some odd fixations with insects
- like to kill people with magic in their auras.

...and there are a lot like that. I think my lupine lore is the best however...

Well...Bridget's lupine lore came from the combined forces of Leonie, Iscariot, and Roshem. Oh - and Hungerford the Gangrel.

I feel she has a nicely eclectic mix of lores..

So - female vampires?
