I was watching the Channel 4 news yesterday, desperate for Charles Kennedy to show one ounce of statesmanship, leadership, or base competency. Unfortunately, he revealed nothing more than, as Jon Snow so eloquently put it "an extended throat clearing" and non-commital "terrorists are evil and nasty."

We seem to be stuck between a rock, a hard place and a swamp, politically speaking.
