Every year at about this sort of time I start to sleep more; as the nights draw in I can't get away with the 3 or 4 hours I can survive on during the lighter months. My sleep patterns are very seasonally dependant, so in the middle of spring or summer I can pull allnighters even at my advanced age, but when the nights close in, I need a solid eight or more hours to keep body & soul together for the new day.
And there's the problem.
I'm mind-numbingly stressed at the moment, and it's damaging my sleep patterns. My sleep is disturbed - I'll wake up a couple of times a night, usually from vivid dreams that might be classed as nightmares if only they were scary. Instead they're just freakish and odd, with imagary that is repeated from night to night. I never have repeating dreams - until now, that is. It's not right, I tell you, not right.
It's plainly stress - Wade International, if we survive until the new year, will probably do quite well. The operative word here, though, is if. The revenues simply aren't coming in, and November/December is the dead time of year when nobody spends...so no sales, and the atmosphere in the office is snappy and difficult, especially as my partners are having just as rough a time of it as I am.
I was thinking the other day - I haven't had a holiday now since August 2002. I've quit one job for another without a break and I'm sure this isn't good for my sanity; weekends are just enough for me to wind down from the week, assuming that I'm not in the office at the weekend, that is.

I really, really need a holiday.
I hope to have one perhaps next March.

But what I won't do is quit.

I know about disturbed sleep patterns, you should definitely try to break it somehow, cause tiredness definitely doesn't improve the atmosphere in the office.
But hang in there! Better times are acomin ^_^ *hugs*

my dad's company always sees a pickup the last couple weeks of the year, when people have to spend money left in the budget or lose it.

but then, I don't know what you sell. He sells computers and networking.

good luck!

Read slowly and picture yourself doing each of these things.

Laughing so hard your face hurts.

A hot shower.

No lines at the supermarket

A special glance.

Taking a drive on an unfamiliar pretty road.

Hearing a song that you had forgotten you even liked on the radio.

Lying in a warm bed listening to the winter rain outside.

Hot towels fresh out of the dryer.

The taste of illicit chocolate.

A long fragrant bath.

Giggling.

Finding a 20 pound note in your coat from last winter.

Laughing at yourself.

Running through sprinklers.

Laughing for absolutely no reason at all.

Having someone tell you that you're cute (or fab).

Laughing at an inside joke.

Accidentally overhearing someone say something nice about you.

Waking up and realizing you still have a few hours left to sleep.

Having someone play with your hair.

Swinging on swings.

Wrapping presents under the Christmas tree while eating cake and drinking your favorite tipple.

Going to a really good concert.

Making eye contact with a pretty stranger

Winning a really competitive game.

Song lyrics printed inside your new CD so you can sing along without feeling stupid.
