I didn’t get the replacement job, so no 75% pay rise for me this week, which is a downer and no mistake. Sadly, I’d come out of the interview knowing I hadn’t got it – I’ve nobody to blame but myself for cocking it up: even if I didn’t have all the experience they wanted, under normal circumstances I could have blagged it, I reckon. Sadly I’m suffering from such a creative block at the moment that I couldn’t even make up any convincing-sounding nonsense this time round and instead I floundered , which is so unusual for me in a social situation that the worry and surprise just compounded itself until I’d well & truly shot myself in the foot.

On to the next one.
