Everyone knows that PETA (People for the ethical treatment of animals) are completely crackers. Yes, they have a name which is well-crafted to evoke sympathy (how could anyone not want to do things 'ethically'? It's only after you examine how they define 'ethical' that the complete bonkersness sinks in), but ever since their Holocaust on your plate campaign which equated battery farming with Treblinka, nobody has taken them seriously.
Which brings me to their latest outburst of spectacular insanity: Sea Kittens. Rebranding fish as sea kittens to stop people fishing and eating the tasty, tasty finny little blighters. I say that it makes a joke out of a point in the same earnest way that a trendy vicar tries to reach out to the kids, and the only way to react to them is the same way that 'the kids' react to trendy vicars.
