The Games
Fucking well rocked, without exception. The handsome, intelligent and talented authors (mostly me, but also mrmmarc and these people) wrote games that, if you did not play them, the rest of your life will be sadder, greyer and emptier as a result. These were, I firmly believe, the greatest games ever written by human hand.

That said, I still had to cancel League of Ornery gentlemen due to a lack of players, which was telling - attendance appeared well down on previous years.

Seriously. If you weren't there and didn't play then you missed out, big time.


The Convention and organisation

Was utterly fucking abominable. If I organised a convention or show like that for a professional company then I would expect to be sacked without a reference. You think the Cam does things badly? You ain't seen nuthin'.


Everything Else
Butlins Gold accomodation is acceptable, if slightly overpriced. Silver (Cattle class) I managed for one night before upgrading, and Bronze (Poo class) is the sort of place Shelter show on their adverts to shock you that people still live like that. One of my dear chums showed me their Bronze chalet and I was astonished not just that people lived like that, but that people were prepared to pay to live like that. Why do gamers have such low standards?
Still we had gold accomodation, a hamper from Fortnums, a crate of beer and some delightful 1996 Bollinger, so life was just about tolerable.

Oh, and as one more thing, I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard I could not breathe, and actually cried tears of laughter. God Bless Anthony Lee.

However, if GenCon don't sort out their organisation - quality games or no quality games - I will not be writing for their convention next year.

I don't know if it is similar in Bognar (and I was not involved in any of this incidentally) but a lot of the staff used to joke at Minehead that if one person picked up a disease than the majority of the staff would have it within a week...lots of unprotected promiscuity.
