Good, you may be able to help.
I'm toying with coming to the S Regional and wanted to know what the rules on booze were. My char concept involves staggering about the shop talking crap and handing out free drink to anyone willing to listen to long-winded, libellous and probably obscene anecdotes and I wanted to make sure this wouldn't a) break any ludicrous anti-alcohol rules that may have been introduced, and b) won't upset the proprietors of the hotel.

well i haven't introduced no drinking at games... i am not that crazy, besides a/ I quite like my life and would rather not get slaughtered by crazed alcohol chasing cammies and b/ i rather like being able to have a beer at a game.

main thing comes down to, drinking good, drunk bad. so provided you don't actually get drunk we should be fine. the rest of it is just being aware of peoples sensibilities. so some warning ahead of time might be warranted, depends on how obscene you want to go, just keep it out of earshot of the hotel staff where possible.
I would rather not have to repeat assuring another hotel that we are not a bunch of psychopathic gang raping murderers (or similar) - they overheard the wrong conversation at the wrong time, but it all worked out fine in the end.
The conference area is aside from the main hotel so i can't see it being toooo big an issue.
besides... isn't that normally how you act anyway ? ;-)

National 2002 - you try talking down reception staff after some numpty ran a combat scene in hotel reception in front of guests.
And people wondered why I wouldn't do more than 1 year. Tsk.

I've no intention of getting drunk, merely acting it. I wanted to make sure that the hotel won't object to me showing up with a bunch of my own bottles and consuming them on site. I know some venues only let you buy from them.

I seem to recall that shouldn't be a problem, bringing food and drink in iirc correctly should be fine, besides unless they ask whether there is actual alcohol in them I can't see it being an issue, there will be a bar anyway though.
just make sure nick and zoe (rst and rc) are aware and we can can combat any dumb arsed questions.

running a combat scene in hotel reception isnt good. sitting in the hotel bar and talking about gang rape etc is also not a good idea. had to remind people to remember where the IC and OOC areas are and stick to them on pain of a very unhappy NC, and you don't like me when i am an unhappy NC ;-)

It'll be obvious there's alcohol, as I'm bringing bottles of champagne!
I asked the RST, but have no idea who the RC is so I thought I'd go straight to the top.

the rc is zoe, you can get to her by loggin into the camuksite and getting the email alias off the contacts page :-)
I can't see it being too much of a problem, provided you dont lumber us with a crap bottle, ya know get the decent stuff ;-)
we have had people bring in alcohol previously and as long as they keep themselves within a decent state of play we haven't had any problems.
will obviously double check with the hotel, but i really can't see it being a problem.

oh and ps: 103.602.
only managed this once. seems to be the way to do it involves doing at least two loop the loops above the chimney point for the extra speed. beyond that i have no clue as the 'up and over' options at best get you about 90 as you end up losing the height too quickly =, geting over a hundred i can only see with the loop the loop thing (which just means getting to go close enough to the chimney to catch the updraft and not smack into it).
