Hairline fracture on the face and a damaged nerve. Ouch

I ought to stop fighting the 23 year-olds, I think. They're too quick for me.

See, that's why I stay with no-contact Tai Chi.

I have discovered that Tai Chi and kickboxing are mutually anathema; Tai Chi gets you into lousy fighting habits (like long stances, for example) that just result in you taking a pasting on a regular basis.

Yes and no...when you start off sure, but 7 or 8 years down the line when suddenly you start actually learning some combat moves...

Of course i gave it up when i realised i couldn't actually walk in Tai Chi - i did a load of Judo, which is all on the balls of the feet, and switching to heal-toe just didn't work!

Try doing Tai Chi on someone when you're wearing boxing gloves.
Doesn't work.
