Techy Geek Question
Oct. 18th, 2002 11:07 amIs it possible to transfer the 'inbox' from a copy of Outlook Express on one computer to a copy on another machine?
If so, how?
What I want to do is be able to access the old mails in my inbox on a different machine - without copying the full outlook file over, just the inbox (I'm limited in transferal storage space).
I've tried simply copying the inbox.dbx file and dropping it into place in Outlook on the second machine, and this hasn't worked, and nor has replacing the inbox file in the directory with the new one. Suggestions, help, please?

Date: 2002-10-18 04:06 am (UTC)but the latest versions of outlook express are crap for importing
I've started to use outlook rather than outlook express for compiling all my mail accounts from various machines
the other option is to save each separate message into a directory on the pc and zip them up in the way you do normal documents (tho for people like me with thousands of messages this really isn't an option ;o)
Better still,
:-)
