Is it possible to transfer the 'inbox' from a copy of Outlook Express on one computer to a copy on another machine?
If so, how?
What I want to do is be able to access the old mails in my inbox on a different machine - without copying the full outlook file over, just the inbox (I'm limited in transferal storage space).
I've tried simply copying the inbox.dbx file and dropping it into place in Outlook on the second machine, and this hasn't worked, and nor has replacing the inbox file in the directory with the new one. Suggestions, help, please?

Better still,

Dispense with Outlook Express entirely and return to primitive PINE which is utterly transferable and virus-free ("virus? virus? what is that? well, here's some incomprehensible text that I think it means.")
