Dear Mr. Wade,

It is with deepest regret we report that during his yearly half-day holiday your erstwhile valet, Langridge, met with an unfortunate accident at the hands of a Tiger in London Zoo.
You will be relieved to know that the tiger, destined to be released into the Wullumbongo hunting park in Kenya was unharmed.
Mr. Langridge has asked me to pass on his sincere regrets that his lack of limbs has meant he is not in a state to continue service for you at this time.
We will endeavour to provide you with a suitable replacement of similar or higher quality as soon as possible; but this will not be until after the 'Chap Olympics'

After discussion with teh She-David we've decided to cry off the olymnpiad and go and see The 39 Steps instead, if you'd be interested in joining us?

I must say that my enthusiasm is waning for the Olympiad, especially if you will be elsewhere. I have seen the 39 Steps but would be happy to see it again. What time is the show as I am busy in the evening?

The number of people I know going to the Olympiad is very small and as I found it very cliquey the last few years, without a large group of chums it lacks appeal.
We're going for the 4pm matinee performance - I can found out if the she daivd has booked tickets and if so our seat numbers if you like?
