Take a drink every time...

1) Every time someone who has just spent six weeks telling you how to vote says "I don't mind how you vote so long as you do"...
2) ...and then follows it up by telling you how to vote anyway.
3) Every time someone insults the intelligence of people who don't vote the 'right' way.
4) Every time someone uses the word 'fair' to describe their preferred system.
5) Every time a Yes campaigner points out the BNP are campaigning for a No vote.
6) Every time a No campaigner points out UKIP are campaigning for a yes vote.
7) Every time someone asks 'Can the coalition survive?'
8) Every time a LibDem moves to 'distance' themself from Nick Clegg.
9) Every time Chris Huhne says something which indicates he really hasn't a clue what he's about.
10) Every time someone sends you a link to that bloody 'cats for AV' video.
11) Every time someone asks how you voted.

God, today is just going to fly by.

I was assailed at Queenstown Road this morning by some people telling me their preferred voting system would "Make MPs work harder". "I don't want them to work harder, they'd just expect more money."

I was stopped by the local Labour party at the polling station asking to see my polling card. I informed them that as a voter it was my business who they were, not the other way round, and I'd be obliged if they'd remember that next time they get any ideas about ID cards.

So a good morning all round, eh?

It's usually the conservatives who do that round my way.

Throw the line about it being your business who they are, not theirs who you are at them. it's a good one, true, and usually makes them look really shifty.

I normally snort with derision and say no.

That's my usual line, but this one came to me as I was walking to the station this monring, meaning I was really *hoping* the Labour activists would be there so I could use it.

Excellent response. I wouldn't mind a two party system so much if we could lose Labour down the back of the sofa or something...
