However, I suspect that the Road to heaven is also paved with good intentions, so how do I know which road is the right one?

I certainly hope you have been practicing the 7 heavenly virtues too. Humility comes to mind. Something Im sure you have, dear david. ;)

However, i can never remember many of the others...Its like everyone knows the 7 deadly sins..
