Picking up the Economist today (always a good read - some interesting pieces about NATO and Europe in it this week), I discover that in Washington DC a group of female anti-war protesters have taken to parading naked outside the White House in order to express their unhappiness.

This is a great idea.

As I'm following a broadly pro-war line (if not for the same reasons as the US administration) could anyone who is going on the anti-war march in london tomorrow please bring a couple of dozen female chums round to my house for a naked protest?

Oh, and if you'd bring me a couple of bottles of lager and abox of hankies too, I'd be very grateful.

1) it's taken the Economist *this long* to pick up that story? Egads, that was started over a month ago in Marin County just north of here, with cloned rallies in the rest of the US and the world. Hell, the BBC had an article on the Aussie nude protest rally just 1.5 weeks ago.

2) Honestly, nudity alone really isn't terribly sexual so I really don't know what the turn-on is. Besides, *most* nude protestors really really shouldn't use that method. Things drooping all over the place.

Frankly, I'm convinced the only people who should do anything public in the nude are homosexuals, they're the only ones who take care of their bodies well enough to warrant showing it off. :-)

Shh - don't break the illusion. You're going to remind me of the S & M orgy I saw at a science fiction convention -- mounds and mounds of flesh with only leather g-straps to keep them from fall to the floor in some Jabba the Hut sprawl. If I could have removed my eyeballs then and there I would have - but I realized that that would be the last image in my head.

LOL! Superb, Jabba the Hut in Princess Lea's costume. :-)

Well, we shouldn't be prejudicial, since 'fat is beautiful' too...and we wouldn't have so many fat people if that weren't a great turn on for most people for most of human existence. :-)

That seems to be a theme of such conventions. I could tell some stries of things I've witnessed, but sometimes words can't do these things justice...
