The following definitions of a Sportsman was drawn up at a meeting representative of all ranks at the Army School of physical training, Aldershot, in 1919. Units represented were of the home forces, France, Italy, Egypt and Mesopotamia.

1) Plays the game for the games sake
2) Plays for the team and not yourself
3) Is a good winner and a good loser; e.g modest in victory & generous in defeat
4) Accepts all decisions in a proper spirit
5) Is chivalrous towards a defeated opponent
6) Is unselfish and always willing to help others become proficient
7) As a spectator applauds good play on both sides
8) Never interferes with referees or judges, no matter what the decision.

a tad optimistic there :-)

A friend of mine once pointed out the trouble with live action vampire games (refering to DoT) was that a 'camarilla' was a chance for fiends who spend most of their lives plotting, scheming and fighting to let their hair down and have a peaceful pint, where as to students who normally have their hair down and drinking pints it was the opposite...

Unfortunately...

Number 8 is a licence for poor and unscupulous referees to have a field day.
