The Monty Doomsday Sweepstake!

I've known Monty for some years; many of us have, and the way he glugs and guzzles through booze & cigs it's a sad likelihood that he won't be with us much longer. Under normal circumstances, the death of a close chum would be a sombre thought; and so I've decided to try and leven the sadness with a touch of excitement:

The Monty Doomsday Sweepstake!

Using your skill and judgement, decide what circumstances you think will finally carry him off!

Found dead in a locked room stabbed through the heart with a dagger of curious Oriental design (17-1)
Renal failure (5-2)
"Social disease" (any) (3-1)
Terminal gout (4-1)
Drowned in vat of Malmsey (6-1)
Found bludgeoned after mentioning 'The Little Engine that Could" once too often. (Evens fav)
Run through heart in a duel - (3-1)
Liver failure (4-3)
Shot by cuckolded husband (11-1)
Shot by cuckolded wife (8-3)
Lungs just plain giving up (4-1)
Beaten to death by friends desperate to avoid yet another account of the Battle of Sebastopol - (4-3)
Falls into own reactor (12-1)
Starves to death playing EverQuest (5-1)
Nicotine Poisoning (4-1)

So, how will he die?

Place your bets...NOW!

Gout or duel! Both are SO him!

*giggles*

I agree with Rhona.
BTW, is he on LJ yet? I sent you a code a while ago...

He plays Everquest? Ah well, starving must be the most likely one then.

I wonder, could the placement of large bets affect the outcome ;p ?

did you get my message about whereabouts Greenwich C/A venue?

[identity profile] davywavy.livejournal.com 2003-07-04 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
yes, I did, sorry.

It's at the Penderels Oak on Holborn. Downstairs.

OK - I take that is fairly easy to find. Is it near the Princess Louise - or do I head out towards Chancery Lane?

[identity profile] omentide.livejournal.com 2003-07-04 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
It is between Holburn and Chancery Lane. About equidistant.

Can I have odds on him dying of cancer from accidentally ingested diet soft drinks, please?

Over my dead body!

Monty

Nice try :)

[identity profile] lanfykins.livejournal.com 2003-07-04 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
But my many years of experience with bookies suggest that since those odds add up to much more than 100 percent (come on, two odds-on favourites?) the only winner of this sweepstake will be you...

D'oh - apparently the many years that have passed since I was in the top ten of the Racing Post's Champion Tipster competition have clouded my ability to read odds.

But they still add up to over 100 percent!

What's at 7.2 million to 1?

[identity profile] davywavy.livejournal.com 2003-07-04 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Struck & killed by falling meteorite whilst skipping down the road singing "I'm a little teapot".

I think that can be arranged.

I have to say that being drowned in a butt of Malmsey seems to suit him so well
