I know what you mean. I had to have reading glasses for the first time a couple of months ago. After I got over the inital embarassment (no-one else cared) I found the headaches from staring at the computer screen all day diminished somewhat, which was a bit of a boon. The scary thing was, I hadn't realised to the extent my eyes had detariorated til I donned my specs.
