An American court described as "over-excited and high on sugar" after drinking one of the newly-legal 'big gulp' sodas is reported to have sentenced deceased British comedian Bernard Manning to 136 years in prison after getting "everything all mixed up".
The court was told how Manning had helped himself to material which belonged to other people, including jokes by Jim 'Nick Nick' Davidson, Les Dawson, and Jimmy Tarbuck, and then made it widely available through "The Embassy". At time of writing it is not clear whether US lawmakers realise this meant the North Manchester comedy club of that name, and not the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
Despite reports that Mr. Manning was no supporter of Pakistan or its residents, the court decided that he presented a "Clear and present" danger to national security and ordered he be incarcerated pretty much forever.

Mr Manning, who died in 2007, has yet to issue a statement or indicate if he will appeal.
