I'd be much more inclined to support things like this if the organisers weren't such wankers. That said, I suppose the point of it is to allow wankers to have their say just as much as anyone else, so I'll probably go along.
I'll just wear a T-Shirt reading "I'm not with Stupid", and arrows pointing in all directions.

I mean, I ask you: This is also a celebration of freedom and free expression, so let's enjoy it. Jugglers, clowns, unicyclists will be welcomed.
Not by me, they bloody won't.

Anyone else coming?

Why doesn't the US produce people like Eisenhauer, Roosevelt and MacArthur any more?

It does, we're all just stuck in IT jobs because we don't want to whiten our teeth or go hunting with Dick.

I agree.
It does.

But the above three Dave mentioned didn't have to submit to the media scrutiny most-politicians do today!

Clinton was many things, but he was easily the best political creature since Roosevelt (he ran rings around the GoP- which is why they got SO harsh on him).

Gore is/was a visionary in several ways (OK, he's lame, but still he had vision).

A few others- one guy who failed to get the Democratic nomination last time around- ex-general Clark (he off the jumpers). he is STRAIGHT out of the MacArthur mold.

But compromise wins all i suppose!

Which is why I like the look of McCain over any of the other likely frontrunners next time out.

McCain could well be elected President.
He will have a HARD time getting the GoP nomination.

Watch out for Julaini actually- the boy has pulled a REAL flanker recently- I'll post on my LJ soon...
