Against all my better judgement, I appear to have heroic instincts. I would much rather have cowardly, or even better, sensible instincts.

The sensible thing to do would have been to grab a camera phone and try to get pictures of them, but I didn't think of this until the adrenaline wore off about 20 minutes later when the stupidity of dashing off towards a gang who'd already decked one person occurred to me.}
