In our own sort of "we love animals" way, I suppose. Fewer parades, more of a grumbly "bloody kids," "incompetent zookeepers," and "why did they have to kill that tiger* for being a tiger?"

Well, that rather illustrates the point that has been bugging me about the whole incident. Since we are the species that is supposed to excel in group tactics, to be able to organize, and to manipulate the environment to our purpose ... I am continually dismayed by how often the organizing principle is jettisoned, along with any attempt at regaining the initiative, to the attacker. This goes as much for tigers who do not communicate, as terrorists who can.
EDIT: When we reduce ourselves to stimulus:response, we are nothing more than naked apes with lethal weapons.
