In the news this week is a report that a referendum on electoral reform will be held on the same day as the local election next year. David Cameron has said he doesn't support AV, but he won't campaign against it either in respect to his new coalition pals. Instead, he says he takes the whole thing 'incredibly seriously' and wants a thoughtful debate. To trigger this debate, he's released the question that will be asked a full year in advance:

I would think the Lib Dem box looks really good from the outside, but no one seems to be able to get it open to find out whether or not there's actually anything inside.

ION is it just me or does 'Baron Prescott and the Psychic Octopus' sound like a low-budget plot for a Bond film?

Well, his accepting the peerage is apparently the price his missus demanded for him shagging his way through the help when we has a minister.

To be honest, if I can put it about with any passing ladies and all I have to do is get a peerage to keep the she-david happy, I'll be popping a cheque in the post to George Osbourne tomorrow.

It was the Telegraph comments thread which asked the question, "has Prescott swallowed his principles?" To which the answer came "he'll swallow anything if it's encased in pastry."
